Refugees

REFUGEES fiberglass and mixed media, life size

This life-size sculpture “Refugees” evokes the heart-breaking scenes of so many seeking refuge from war. Judith Peck created it during the ravages of Kosovo but the urgent search for acceptance is the same.

This life-size sculpture depicts a family after making a treacherous journey carrying everything they own on their backs in the quest for a safe place to live. The sculpture itself travels for year-long  engagement in public places in the community to bring attention to the personal face of immigration.

Contact Judith about your interest in being on the schedule for a future loan installation. At this time there is no charge to institutions, only for assistance with the onsite placement. The sculpture stands on its own platform as one unit and weighs about 200 pounds. Libraries have been the most frequent recipients of the year-long loan arrangements.
